Catherine Bach (born Catherine Bachman 1 March 1954) is an American actress. She is famous for her role as Daisy Duke in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard and Margo Dutton in African Skies. Her birthplace was Cleveland, Ohio to Bernard P. Bachman (a rancher) and Norma Jean Kucera, an Acupuncturist. Her mother was a daughter of Antonio L. Verdugo, of Bisbee, Arizona, a baker born in Mexico, while her father was of German ancestry. Her family was from Warren, Ohio.Her mother, born into the family of Verdugo was believed to descend from one of California's earliest landlocked families.She spent some of her youth on a ranch in South Dakota,[10and also visited grandparents in Faith, South Dakota. In 1970, Bach graduated from Stevens High School in Rapid City, South Dakota. She studied drama for a brief time at UCLA in the United States, where she earned her income by making costumes for her friends and theater groups. Bach's first professional appearance was as one of the kids in the production of The Sound of Music. Bach made her first film appearance in The Midnight Man (1973), an Burt Lancaster murder mystery. She was Natalie Claiburn, the victim of a brutal beating. Melody was her following film role in the 1974 film Thunderbolt as well as Lightfoot.
