Catherine Bach (born Catherine Bachman 1 March 1954) is an American actress. She is known for playing Daisy Duke in the television show The Dukes of Hazzard and Margo Dutton in African Skies. In 2012 she was added to the cast of the CBS soap drama The Young and the Restless as Anita Lawson.Bach was born in Cleveland, Ohio,the daughter of Norma Jean Kucera (nee Verdugo) who was an acupuncturist and Bernard P. Bachman, an entrepreneur. Her mother was a daughter of Antonio L. Verdugo, of Bisbee, Arizona, a baker born in Mexico and her father had German descent. Her family was from Warren, Ohio.Her mother, born into the Verdugo family is believed to be descended from one of California's earliest settled families.She was a part of her early years on a ranch in South Dakota,[10and visited her grandparents in Faith, South Dakota. Bach graduated from Stevens High School, Rapid City, South Dakota in 1970. She studied drama for a brief time at UCLA, where she supplemented her earnings by sewing costumes for her friends and theater groups. Her first appearance on stage was when she appeared as one of the kids in a production called The Sound of Music. Bach was the first actress to make an film appearance in The Midnight Man (1973) in which was a Burt Lancaster murder mystery. She was Natalie Claiburn, the victim of brutal beating. Her next role was Melody in the film of the same name, Thunderbolt as well as Lightfoot.
