Alicia Amanda Vikander (/vI'kaend@r/,Swedish: [a'li:sIa vI'kan:der] (listen); born 3 October 1988) is a Swedish actress. Vikander has received numerous accolades such as the Academy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. She was nominated for a Critics Choice Movie Award. Her acting career began in short films as well as television shows in Sweden. She first gained attention for her performance on the drama series Andra Avenyn (2008)-2010. Pure (2010) was her first feature film. She was awarded the Guldbagge Award as Best Actress. In 2012, she gained greater recognition for her role as Kitty in Joe Wright's adaptation of Anna Karenina. She also took home the Guldbagge Award as Best Actress.
