 Alicia Silverstone (/@lI'si:@born on October 4, 1976) is an American actress. Her debut film was The Crush (1993), which she won the 1994 MTV Movie Award in Best Breakthrough Performance. She gained even more recognition at the age of 16 when she was a teen idol in the Aerosmith music video for "Cryin'". In 1995, she appeared in the role of Cher Horowitz in Clueless (1995) and earned her a multimillion-dollar deal with Columbia Pictures. In 1997, she appeared in the huge-budget superhero film Batman & Robin, playing Batgirl.Silverstone was awarded an Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for her role in the short-lived NBC series Miss Match (2003). She has continued to act on television and in films as well as on stage.A vegan, Silverstone has endorsed PETA initiatives and has released two cookbooks: The Kind Diet (2009) and The Kind Mama (2014).Silverstone was born in San Francisco, California, the daughter of Deirdre "Didi" Silverstone (nee Radford) (nee Radford), an Scottish former Pan Am flight attendant; and Monty Silverstone, an English real estate agent. Her family was in Hillsborough, California. Her father was born into a Jewish family. Following her NYPD Blue breakthrough, Lawrence starred in the sitcoms Fired Up (1997-98) and Ladies Man (1999-2001). she starred in the CBS supernatural drama Wolf Lake in 2001, and the CW Teen drama Hidden Palms in 2007. Lawrence was well-known for her roles as a regular on Desperate Housewives and Drop Dead Diva and Rizzoli & Isles's Queen Sugar, Shameless, Shameless, The Ranch, Shameless and Rizzoli & Isles. Gossip (2001), Middle of Nowhere (2012), and Solace (2015) are just a few of her film credits. In 2021, she started playing in the Paramount+ neo-Western series, Jo Pickett.Lawrence was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. When she was in her junior year of high school she relocated to Raleigh and completed her studies at Needham B. Broughton High school. She graduated from Needham B. Broughton High school with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1983.
