Alaina Huffman

 Alaina Kalanj (also known as Alaina Huffman) (born 17th April 1979), is a Canadian film and television actress most well-known for her role in the television series Painkiller Jane, where she played the character Maureen Bowers. She was Dinah Lance/ Black Canary in the TV series Smallville and was also 1st Lt. Tamara Johansen in Stargate Universe, where she was a regular member of the cast. She was the character of the demon Abaddon in the American dark-fantasy television series Supernatural.Huffman was born Alaina Kalanj in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Croatian of Croatian descent her name is. At 13 years old, she went to her first audition for the role of a Fox Family Channel pilot, in which she was offered the main part. A scout at an agency that was modeling instead hired Huffman who was slated to model for high fashion runways in Europe and Japan throughout the next years.When her parents relocated to Dallas, Texas, she saw the opportunity to live in the United States and enroll in college, leaving modeling behind. While in school, she took on acting roles in a series of films that were independent. Then, she relocated to Los Angeles, where she added more credits from television on her resume.
