Abigail Daniella Phillip (born November 25, 1988) works as journalist in the United States. She is a Saturday anchor and political correspondent for CNN. Her previous employers include The Washington Post, ABC News and Politico.Phillip born in 1988, is from Afro-Trinidadian descent.She was born in Virginia to June Phillip, now a realtor and Carlos Phillip, a teacher and later an educational psychologist. She is the mother of five siblings.When she was a young child, the family briefly moved back to Trinidad and Tobago and returned to the U.S. when she was nine years old. Phillip was raised in Bowie, Maryland, and attended Bowie High School.In 2010, she graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in public administration, after originally intending to study premed. At Harvard, Phillip wrote for The Harvard Crimson. Phillip was hired by CNN in 2017, and was in charge of covering the Trump Administration. Prior to joining CNN, Phillip worked for The Washington Post where she was in charge of national news reporting and general assignments. She also worked for ABC News, where she was an ABC News Fellow and digital reporter in New York City, and was an interviewer on C-SPAN multiple times.
