Norm MacDonald

Norman Gene MacDonald was MacDonald's father. MacDonald was born in Quebec City, Quebec on 17 October 1959. MacDonald began his comedy career with stand-up comedy. MacDonald's first job was to write for The Dennis Miller Show (1992) and then Roseanne (1988). Lorne Michaels noticed MacDonald while he was writing for Roseanne (1988). He then offered him his Saturday Night Live (1975) job. MacDonald's famous phrase, "And now, the fake news" was what earned him the status of a well-known Weekend Update anchor. The show ran until September 24, 1994, until the 13th of December 1997, at which point he was fired by Don Ohlmeyer, president of NBC on the west coast. He officially left the show in the month of March, 1998. His final weekend update was on the 13th of December 1997. Dirty Work (1998) was the film he begun working on in the summer 1997. The film was released two months later. In March 1999, his program, known as Norm (1999), came out on ABC and ran for a 3 season run. He also played opposite Dave Chappelle in Screwed (2000)
