Jordan Belfort

 Jordan Ross Belfort, an American motivational speaker and writer and former stockbroker. Belfort was born in New York, has the ability to be a masterful salesperson from an early age. He began his career as a stockbroker, and then produced millions of dollars through criminal activities in the 90s through 'Stratton Oakmont,' an investment company which was his own. In a state of denial to the pressure imposed on by law enforcement agencies, Jordan pleaded guilty for fraud against investors as well as other offenses related to the manipulation of stock market. Jordan also admitted to running a boiler-room as part of the "penny stock scheme." He was sentenced to 22 months in prison. In accordance with an agreement, he was required to give evidence against several of his subordinates as well as partners involved in his fraud schemes. Belfort has since altered his ways and now delivers motivational speeches. His initial speeches were focused on ethics and motivation. The focus later changed on selling skills and entrepreneurship. In his speeches, he focuses on how ethics play an essential aspect in the running of a successful business , and how to avoid the mistakes he made in his career as broker.
