Gwyneth Paltrow

 Gwyneth Kate Paltrow, the daughter of actor Blythe Danner and well-known producer Bruce Paltrow, was born in Los Angeles. Her father came from a Jewish family, and her mother is mostly of German descent. Gwyneth aged 11 years old, moved with her family to Massachusetts. Her father began working in summer stock productions at the Berkshires. With the guidance of her parents, she received her first acting training. The school she attended was an all-girls Spence School in New York City and relocated to California to attend the UC Santa Barbara, majoring in Art History. She soon quit, realizing it was not her passion. Her film debut came with a tiny part in Shout (1991) and over the following five years, she played roles in a variety of films. collection of films that included Flesh and Bone (1993); Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994); Se7en (1995); Jefferson in Paris (1995); Moonlight and Valentino (1995) and The Pallbearer (1996). The performance she gave in Emma Woodhouse's lead role in Emma (1996) was what led to her being offered Viola in Shakespeare in Love (1998). She was presented with the Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, and Academy Awards for Best Actress in Leading Part. She has also played roles in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999), The Royal Tenenbaums (2000), Shallow Hal (2002), Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow (2004) and Proof (2005). She has two children with her former husband, English musician Chris Martin.
