Amala Paul (born 26 October 1991)is an Indian actress who appears in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. After she completed her studies, Lal Jose offered Amala Paul a role in Neelathamara's Malayalam-language film. Later, she went on to be known for her part in Mynaa, which was her first performance as an actor. The film failed despite being a huge hit. She was cast in Vikadakavi, a low-budget comedy film, but it was delayed. She also signed on as the lead in Veerasekaran (2010). Her maiden Tamil film was criticised and ignored. Paul's role was deemed "minimal" by critics. She later said she regrets having done the movie. Paul then worked in Samy's controversial Sindhu Samaveli (2010) as Sundari.
