Russian ex-artistic gymnast Aliya Farkhatovna Mustafina is Aliya Farkhatovna Mustafina. With a combined total of 45 Olympic, World and European Championship medals her name is regarded as one of the most successful gymnasts of all time.She is the 2010 all-around world champion, the 2013 European all-around champion, the 2012 and 2016 Olympic uneven bars champion and a seven-time Olympic medalist. Mustafina has tied with Svetlana Khorkina as the highest number of medals awarded by an Russian gymnast (not including Soviet Union women's national artistic gymnastics team). Mustafina was the 9th gymnast who won medals in all events at the World Championship. She also became the highest-ranked gymnast of any sport excluding swimming, and was tied with Svetlana Khaorkina for the record. She became the first gymnast of female gender (since Simona Amanar 2000) to win an all around medal at two Olympics and also the first since Svetlana Kharkina 2000 to defend her crown at the Olympic apparatus final.
