Shannon Spake
Shannon Spake, born July 23rd 1976 is a reporter for the NFL and hosts NASCAR on Fox Sports. She was previously employed by ESPN in which she was a reporter for SportsCenter and also a sideline reporter for the SEC for basketball and college games. Spake also worked for the new SEC Network which is owned by ESPN.Before joining ESPN, Spake worked at Speed channel, where she co-hosted NASCAR Nation in its second version (June through November 2005) and was the reporter for its inaugural edition (February through June 2005). Back Seat Drivers was also hosted by Spake and Marty Smith, an online columnist. From 2007 until 2014, her previous airtime jobs included WCCB in Charlotte (North Carolina) and Carolina Sports and Entertainment Television. Spake was a NASCAR pit reporter for the network. She also contributed to both NASCAR Countdown and NASCAR Now. Spake was a full-time pit reporter for Nationwide races and Sprint Cup races that aired on ESPN in 2008. This role would be continued until ESPN was forced to give broadcast rights to NBC Sports in the 2015 season. On the 13th of August, 2013, Spake signed an extension of her contract for a number of years with ESPN.
