American actress Sally Margaret Field was born on the 6th of November 1946. She is famous for her performances on stage and screen. She has been awarded numerous awards over her lifetime, including two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In 2014, she was awarded an honorary star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Kennedy Center Honor in 2019 in addition to a Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award for 2023. She began her television career in the sitcoms Gidget (1965-1966), The Flying Nun (67-1970) and The Girl with Something Extra (1973-1974). She won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for the NBC television series Sybil (1976). Her first film appearance was as an extra in the film Moon Pilot (1962) followed by roles as a star in Stay Hungry (1976), The Way West (1976) Smokey and the Bandit (1977), Heroes (1977), The End (1978) and Hooper (1978). Two Academy Awards were won for her work in Norma Rae (1979) and Places in the Heart (84). She was also in Smokey and the Bandit II (1980), Absence Of Malice (1981), Kiss Me Goodbye (82), Murphy's Romance (1885), Steel Magnolias (1989), Steel Magnolias (1989), Steel Magnolias (1989), Soapdish (1991), Mrs. Doubtfire(93) and Forrest Gump (1994).
