Virginia Elizabeth "Geena" Davis (born 21 January 1956) is an American actor and producer. Her honors include an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. She was born in Virginia Elizabeth "Geena" Davis on January 21 the 21st of January, 1956. The comedy Beetlejuice (1988) was a comedy that was a fantasy comedy was her first major success. However the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress went to The Accidental Tourist (1988). Through Thelma & Louise (1991) that earned her a nomination for Academy Award for Best Actress She established herself as a prominent actress. A League of Their Own (1992) also earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination. Davis's roles in Cutthroat Island (1995), and The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996) were followed by a long absence from her career. The actress was also nominated for an Oscar Award for Best Actress. In 2005, Davis won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Drama. Her subsequent films include Accidents Happen (2009) and Marjorie Prime (2017). She has played the role of Dr. Nicole Herman in Grey's Anatomy (2014-2015 and the year 2018) and also as Regan MacNeil-Angela Reance in the premiere season of the horror television show The Exorcist (2017).
