FARMINGTON - John Michael "Mike" Clardy, 72, of Farmington died Wednesday, Feb. 8th, 2023, in Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.He was born on the 20th of March, 1950, to Danny M. and Charlotte J. (Scott) Clardy. Cheryl Young was his bride on June 12, 1971, at the United Methodist Church of Farmington. He is survived by two children, Christopher Adam Clardy and Michelle (Jay) Clardy Dobbs. The last to pass away were the two parents.As a child Mike was an athlete as well as a keen hunter and fisherman. He was an All State Football player for Farmington. After college He played football in college at Knox College. In 1977 Mike and Cheryl purchased the Farmington Shopper Newspaper. He and Cheryl owned and operated the Farmington Shopper and Tucker's Printing in Galesburg until their retirement in the month of November 2020.During his lifetime, Mike will be remembered for his devotion to his wife, family and the willingness to assist others in need.
