Alfre Woodard

 Alfre Woodard, /'aelfri'wUd@rd/ was born on the 8th of November 1952. She is well-known for her shrewd, professional performances on screen and stage. She has won numerous accolades including four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. In 2020, The New York Times ranked her as one of "The 25 greatest actors of the 21st Century". She is a board member for the Academy of Motion Pictures and Sciences.Woodard began her acting career through theater. Following her breakout role in the Off-Broadway show For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide The Rainbow Is Enuf the Rainbow Is Enuf (1977) and her film debut in Remember My Name (1978). In the film Cross Creek (1983), she was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress. For her role in Clemency the film, she received a BAFTA Award as Best Actress in Leading Role. She also appeared in 12 Years a Slave (2013) and Annabelle (2014).
