Alexis Gómez

 Alexis de Jesus Gomez, an Dominican ex-professional baseball outfielder, was born August 8th, 1978. He was a player in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers, and for the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Chunichi Dragons.Gomez was officially signed as a non-drafted free agency on the 21st of February in 1997. He spent his first two professional seasons with the DSL Royals of the Dominican Summer League. In his debut professional season, Gomez hit.351 and scored 51 runs. He also scored 42 RBI. In 1998, he slugged .283 with one homer and 34 RBI in more than 67 games.In 1999, Gomez played 56 games with the GCL Royals of the Gulf Coast League and batted .276 with 31 RBI and five home runs. That season he was ranked third in the league, with the most runs scored, at-bats played and games played, with the majority of games finishing with home runs.In 2000, Gomez played 121 games of high-admission baseball with the Wilmington Blue Rocks of the Carolina League. He batted .254 and finished the second spot in the team with 63 runs. That season, he also recorded 29 multi-hit games, including six three-hit games.
