Alexis Gómez

 Alexis de Jesus Gomez (born August 8th, 1978) is an Dominican ex-professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers as well as for the Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Chunichi Dragons.Gomez was legally signed as a non-drafted free agent on February 21 the 21st of February, 1997. The first two seasons of his professional career were spent playing for the DSL Royals in the Dominican Summer League. In his first professional season, Gomez hit.351 and scored 51 runs. He also scored 42 RBI. In 1998, he hit .283 with one homer and 34 RBI during the equivalent of 67 games.In 1999, Gomez played 56 games with the GCL Royals of the Gulf Coast League and batted .276 with 31 RBI and five home runs. He was third in the league with respect to bats played, runs scored and games played. In 2000, Gomez also played 121 games in High-A baseball for the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the Carolina League. He batted .254 and tied for second with the score of 63 runs. The same season, he had 29 multi-hit games including six games that had three hits.
