Alexandra E. Witt (born April 9th 1991) is an American television news journalist based in New York City who currently hosts the news on TV program Alex Witt Reports from 12 noon to 2 pm on MSNBC in addition to having hosted MSNBC Live and Morning Joe First Look. Witt joined the network in the year 1999. Witt was born in Pasadena in California and grew up close to Hancock Park in Los Angeles. Witt completed her studies at the Marlborough School for Girls in Los Angeles and the University of Southern California which is where she majored in journalism and international relations.Witt began her career as an assistant producer on the Today Show in Burbank, California. Her first on-air job was at KCBA in Salinas, California. She later worked for KCBS-TV, KNBC-TV, and KABC-TV all of which are located in communities adjacent to Los Angeles. In the years 1990-92, she was an anchor for KCBA and WNYW-TV from 1996 to 1998. Witt was an anchor for MSNBC in 1999. She is the host of Weekends with Alex Witt on MSNBC. Later, it was renamed MSNBC Reports.
