Alesha Anjanette Dixon (born 7 October 1978) is an English singer, rapper, dancer, television personality and an author. In the early 2000s she was a part of the R&B hip-hop, garage and R&B group Mis-Teeq. In 2005, the group broke in dissolution and Dixon began her own music career. She signed to a Polydor Records recording contract. The singer-songwriter released her first solo album, Fired Up , in 2006, which included her first single "Lipstick", followed by "Knockdown" following which her popularity as a performer had waned and she was later dropped from Polydor.In 2007, Dixon took home the fifth series of the BBC One dancing competition show Strictly Come Dancing. She received a lot of television exposure which led to her musical comeback. In 2008, Dixon released her second album entitled The Alesha. This album received platinum status within the UK. It also spawned the songs "The Boy Does Not" and "Breathe Slow". The latter became her most charting single and earned her the Brit Award nomination. Dixon's fourth album, Do It For Love was released in the year 2015. She was a judge on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020 and Walk the Line in 2021. She was also a judge on the tenth season of Australia's Got Talent in 2022.
