Alesha Anjanette Dixon (born 7 October 1978) is an English rapper, singer and dancer, TV personality, and author. Her fame was boosted in the early 2000s as a member of the R&B garage and hip-hop group Mis-Teeq. In 2005, the group split in dissolution and Dixon embarked on a solo musical career. She signed to a Polydor Records recording contract. She recorded her debut solo album, Fired Up in 2006, releasing her debut single "Lipstick" and then "Knockdown" and "Knockdown" following when her popularity as a performer had waned and was subsequently eliminated from Polydor.In 2007, Dixon won the fifth series of the BBC One dancing competition show Strictly Come Dancing. The exposure from television was the catalyst for an unexpected musical revival and her contract signing with Asylum Records in 2008 the singer released her second album, The Alesha Show, which received platinum certification in the UK and was the genesis of the popular singles "The Boy Does Nothing" and "Breathe Slow", the latter of which became the top-charting single of her career and was an Brit Award nomination.In 2009, Dixon became a judge on the seventh season of Strictly Come Dancing, and the following year, she released her third album entitled The Entertainer.In 2012, after her judging duties on the ninth season of Strictly Come Dancing, Dixon quit to become a judge on the ITV talent show competition Britain's Got Talent.Her fourth album, Do It for Love, was released in 2015. In 2020, Dixon was a judge on America's Got Talent: The Champions and in 2021, she became a judge on Walk the Line. She was also a judge on the tenth series of Australia's Got Talent in 2022.
