Aleksandra Albu (Russian: Aleksandra Albu, also transliterated Alexandra; born 14 July 1990) is a Moldovan-born Russian mixed martial artist. Albu was previously a participant in the UFC's strawweight division. Albu also competed in bodybuilding, karate and crossfit competitions. Albu was scheduled to make her debut as a promotional fighter against Julie Kedzie at UFC Fight Night 33, 6 December 2013. However, Albu was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a knee injury.Albu made her debut on 11 April 2015 in UFC Fight Night 64 against Izabela Badurek. Albu beat Badurek in the second round using a Guillotine choke.In July 2017, after a two-year hiatus, Albu returned to UFC in a fight against American fighter Kailin Curran. Albu beat her by an unanimous decision.Albu faced Emily Whitmire on 17 February 2019 at UFC on ESPN 1. She was defeated in the opening round by Loma Lookboonmee who was a promotional newcomer to the UFC on ESPN+ 20. She was defeated by a split decision.In February 2021, there was a report that Albu and UFC had split ways.Albu is currently studying at the Academy of Intellectual Property. Her nickname, Stitch, comes from the fictional character Stitch from the film Lilo and Stitch.She officially is a representative of Russia after many years of training and living in Moscow.
