Alana Rene Blanchard, born on March 5, 1990, is an American professional surfer. Blanchard has competed in the ASP World Tour. Holt Blanchard was her father who taught Blanchard surfing when she was just four years old. Alana was the first to ride her first wave at Kauai's Hanalei Pier. Then she took part for the first time at the age of 9 on a shortboards. Blanchard believes that Rip Curl ended their partnership in 2020 due to the fact that Blanchard became a mom. Rip Curl claimed that she didn't believe that this was the reason and blamed Blanchard as well as Rip Curl's inability to negotiate an agreement to renew the sponsorship. In May of 2017, Blanchard launched the Alana Blanchard Foundation (ABF), that aims to help women who are surfing. Blanchard's influence is also evident on social media, having more than 1.8 million Instagram followers and more than 102K YouTube users.
