AJ Lee

 April Jeanette Mendez, born March 19 1987 is an American author. She was also a retired professional wrestler. Her time in WWE where she was a part of the name of the ring AJ Lee, is what has made her the most well-known. She is an color commentator and executive producer at WOW WOW - Women of Wrestling. Mendez started her professional wrestling career in 2007 in the independent circuit in New Jersey. She signed with WWE in 2009 and stayed for two years at its developmental branch, Florida Championship Wrestling, before her promotion to its main roster. Her fame exploded in 2012 with stories about her "mentally unstable" that included significant relationships and a three-month stint as the General Manager for Raw. She took home the Divas Championship three times and was the winner for an overall record 406.6 days. She also received the Slammy Award for Diva of the Year in 2012 and 2014, and readers of Pro Wrestling Illustrated voted her Woman of the Year from 2012 to 2014. In-ring performances were her final act in the year 2015. Crazy Is My Superpower was Mendez's 2017 memoir. It was a New York Times bestseller. April Jeanette Mendez was birthed in Union City, New Jersey on March 19, 1987. Her mother, Janet Acevedo, was a homemaker and later an aide to the home, while her father, Robert Mendez, was an automotive engineer.She is the youngest of three children and is from Puerto Rican descent.In describing her childhood, Mendez said her family was afflicted by the effects of poverty, mental illness and drug addiction. They would often move between apartments or motels, and often slept in them or even their own car as they couldn't afford the cost of rent.
