Adele Mara, born Adelaida Delgado on April 28th, 1923 - May 7, 2010, was an American performer and actress. She was also popularly known as Adele St. Mara and was a part of Columbia Pictures' comedy shorts and features. The name was later changed to Adele Mara. One of her first roles was as a receptionist for the Three Stooges film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. In Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in which she played the leading female character, playing the sister of an escapee and wrongfully accused convictWhen her Columbia contract lapsed the studio moved her to Republic Pictures, where she was a regular in the studio's westerns and outdoor adventures. The actress was an actor in the supporting roles of Don Siegel's Count the Hours and The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne.
