American actress Abigail Leigh Spencer was born August 4, 1981. She made her debut as Rebecca Tyree on the ABC soap opera on daytime television All My Children (1999-2001) before she was cast in the Lifetime crime drama series Angela's Eyes (2006). She also appeared in several recurring roles on Mad Men (2009) and Hawthorne (2009–2011), Suits (2011)-2019, Grey's Anatomy (2017-2022). She was a part of SundanceTV's drama series Rectify from 2013 until the year 2016. The show was nominated for a Critics ' Choice Television Award. From 2016 to 2018, Spencer starred as history professor Lucy Preston in the NBC science-fiction drama Timeless. Spencer was in numerous films, including In My Sleep (2010) and Cowboys & Aliens (2012). She also appeared in This Means War (2012) as well as Chasing Mavericks (2012). Spencer was born and raised in Gulf Breeze in Santa Rosa County, Florida. She is the daughter of Lydia Ann Brown and surfer Yancy Spencer II (1950-2011). Spencer has claimed that she is a part of Cherokee.
