American actor William Michael Zabka (/zaebk@(born October 20, 1965) He is best known for his performance as Johnny Lawrence in The Karate Kid (1984), The Karate Kid Part II (1986) and the television series Cobra Kai (2018-present). In 2004 Zabka was nominated to win an Academy Award for co-writing and producing the short film Most.Zabka was born in New York City, the son of Nancy who was an executive liaison, producer and production assistant, as well as Stan Zabka, a director, writer and composer.He has a brother and a sister. His father, a Czech-born Czech national, was born in Des Moines in Iowa. He was the assistant director on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson for the first two seasons. Following that, he worked as a production manager on several motion pictures like Forced Vengeance (1982) by Chuck Norris.
