The Mandalorian, an American space Western TV series that Jon Favreau created for Disney+ It is known as "The Child". It is the Star Wars' first live-action series. The series premieres five years after Return of the Jedi (1983). The title character is Pedro Pascal, a bounty hunter on the run for "the child". Star Wars creator George Lucas had already begun to create an Star Wars TV series. But, the project proved too expensive to develop. In October 2012 the creator sold Lucasfilm to Disney. Subsequently, work on a new Star Wars series began for Disney+. Favreau joined the show in March 2018and serves as writer and showrunner. Alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni Favreau, he is executive producing. The series' name was announced in October of 2018. Filming began in Manhattan Beach Studios, California. Visual effects firm Industrial Light & Magic developed the StageCraft technology used in the series which uses virtual sets and an immersive 360-degree video wall in order to create the show's scenes. This technology has been used in other film and television productions.The Mandalorian premiered with the launch of Disney+ on November 12 the 12th of November, 2019. The first season of eight episodes received positive reviews It was recognized as an nominee for Outstanding Drama Series at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, and was awarded seven Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The series received positive reviews and the second season debuted on October 30 the 30th of October, 2020. A third season is set to launch on March 1, 2023. The fourth season is currently in development. The interconnected spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew extend The Mandalorian's timeline.
