Temetrius Jamel "Ja", NBA point guard, was born August 10, 1999. The birthplace was Dalzell (South Carolina). Tee and Jamie Morant gave birth to Morant along with their younger daughter Teniya. Morant was a backyard athlete who trained with his dad and sister every day, aspiring to be an NBA player. Morant continued to play at Crestwood High School in Sumter, South Carolina. ESPN did not rate Morant at the time he joined college. With a lack of offers available, Morant decided to play for Murray State. After two years at Murray State, Morant left Murray State to declare for the 2019 NBA Draft. The Memphis Grizzlies selected Ja Morant second in the 2019 NBA Draft. He is currently a Memphis Grizzlies player. Ja Morant was a student at Crestwood High School, Sumter, South Carolina. After his high school days, Morant left as Crestwood's all-time leading scorer with 1,679 points. He also scored a personal-best of 47 points while in high school. The average was 27 points per game, 8 rebounds and 8 assists during his junior and senior seasons in high school. Three-time All-Region MVP Morant was determined to attend the college of his choice, but wasn't recognized by any of the recruiting agencies. The most attractive offer came from South Carolina. Other offers included Duquesne as well as Maryland Eastern Shore, South Carolina State Wofford, Murray State as well as South Carolina State. He ultimately signed with the Murray State Racers. Morant made his debut November 10 in 2017. He scored seven points and added 11 assists. On December 12, 2017 Morant scored a total of 10 points with 12 rebounds, and 6 assists, his first double-double in professional basketball. Ja also scored a triple double against Eastern Illinois to make it the second triple-double of school history. Ja averaged 12.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game as a freshman.
