Russ Abbot

 Russ Abbot, born Russell Allan Roberts on September 18, 1947 is an actor, comedian and musician from England. Born in Chester,he first came to public notice during the 1970s as the singer and drummer with British comedy showband the Black Abbots, later forging a prominent solo career as a television comedian with his own weekly show on British television.Continuing his musical career as a solo artist, Abbot released several charting singles and albums. His career progressed as he made the shift to more mainstream and serious acting on television shows and series. He was awarded the 'Funniest person on TV' award five more times. Abbot, who was born Russ Roberts, appeared on The Comedians. He released a number of solo albums as well as appeared on a variety of television shows. His most popular track, "Atmosphere", reached No. 10 in the UK charts. In 1985, 7 was his highest-rated single. "Atmosphere" made it to the top of the UK top 10, peaking at No. The show was rated the top among younger viewers, prompting two annuals being released in 1982-83. These comic strips were based off well-known characters and contained publicity pictures of Abbot as a variety characters.
