Tim Allen is an American actor and comedian, voiceover artist entertainer, writer and actor. After years of struggling as a stand-up comedian in Los Angeles, and appearing in small-time television commercials and cable shows, Allen finally got his breakthrough with ABC's sitcom "Home Improvement." The show ran for eight years and launched Allen's acting career. The show also established Allen as an actor as well as comedian in Hollywood. He was offered roles in films like "Galaxy Quest" and "The Santa Clause". He also voiced the character 'Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story film series. Before becoming an actor, Allen's life was chaotic. His father died when he was just 11 years old, and he was involved with illicit drugs to earn quick money. He was charged with possessing cocaine and was sentenced to 28 months in prison.
