Jeanette Helen Morrison, widely popularly referred to as Janet Leigh, was a well-known American dancer, actress, author and singer. She was awarded the world-renowned Golden Globe awards for her role in the film thriller named 'Psycho'. The role she played in the film was rewarded with an Academy Award nomination. She was also mother of Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Cutis. Leigh was helped by actress Norma Shearer to get her first break. After making her acting debut on the radio in 1946, she was offered a contract at MGM in 1947. She was an acclaimed actor in several blockbuster movies, including Little Women, Angels in the Outfield and Scaramouche. Her marriage to actor Jamie Lee Curtis made headlines many times, and then it led to divorce in the year 1962. In the same year she was no longer acting. Although she was in several notable films afterward, but those were few and very few. Leigh passed away in the year 2004 following an entire year of fighting a condition that resulted from the swelling of a blood vessel.
