Jermaine Lamarr Cole is an American rapper and mixtape producer. Jay Z brought him into the limelight and thanks to his talents and expertise, Cole earned a name for himself within the American hip-hop scene. Jay Z was immediately impressed by Cole's debut mixtape "The come up', and signed the artist to his label Roc Nation. Cole then released two mixtapes under Jay Z's direction. Cole's debut album "Cole World: The Sideline Story' got released in 2011 and the young rapper made a splash with the album. The album came out at the top on the Billboard 200 chart and was later certified platinum by RIAA. His next two studio albums followed the suit and achieved the platinum designation and were widely appreciated by critics as well as other musicians. He was nominated for the Grammy for Best Rap Album. He is known for being one of the few artists who has not missed the Platinum Standard of Recording Industry Association of America. He founded the Dreamville Foundation for social works and Dreamville Records does the job of promoting young talent from humble beginnings.
