 Ashanti Shequoiya is an American singer-songwriter, dancer and producer of records. The Grammy award winner rose to fame in the new millennium with the hit album "Ashanti" and the song "Foolish". The album became the most popular album of that time , and more than 5 million copies were sold. Ashanti was also listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the sales of her debut album. Since her early years, she was involved in the glamor business. She was a TV actress in commercials and music videos. However, her debut R&B album was her biggest hit. She is also a gifted writer. Her hit song "Ain’t it Funny (Murder Remix)," which she composed and performed for Jennifer Lopez, reached the top spot in Billboard's top 100. Ashanti was even honored with the title of "Princess of Hip Hop & R&B" by her employer. She received eight Billboard awards along with two American Music Awards for the tremendous popularity of her album. It is worthwhile to mention her roles as an actress in "Bride and Prejudice" (2004) and "About Time" (2013).
