Joseph Antonio Cartagena, better known as Fat Joe, was born on August 19, 1970. He is an actor and rapper from New York. His music career began as a part of the hip-hop group Diggin' in the Crates Crew (D.I.T.C. ) Then he embarked on an independent career and set up his own label, Terror Squad, to which he signed Big Pun, Remy Ma, Tony Sunshine, Cuban Link, Armageddon, Prospect, Triple Seis and DJ Khaled as well as discover the producers Cool and Dre.Fat Joe's first solo album, Represent, came out in 1993. It spawned the single "Flow Joe", which made it to the top spot on Billboard Hot Rap Songs. The album that has been his most commercially successful up to this point was Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.) It was certified platinum by RIAA, and internationally certified silver (BPI).
