Denzel Washington

Denzel Hayes Washinton Jr. was born in Mount Vernon, New York on the 28th of December 1954. He is the middle child of Lennis Washington Beautician from Georgia as well as Denzel Washington, Jr. from Virginia. After graduating from high school, Denzel enrolled at Fordham University, intent on a career in journalism. But he was bitten by the acting bug when he appeared in drama productions for students and after his graduation, he relocated to San Francisco and enrolled at the American Conservatory Theater. He left A.C.T. within a year, and went on to pursue a job as an actor. His first acting job was in a summer stock-theater stage production in St. Mary's City, Maryland. The play was "Wings of the Morning" and is about the founding of the colony of Maryland (now the state of Maryland) as well as the early times of the Maryland colonial assembly (a legislative body). He played an actual historical character, Mathias Da Sousa, although most of the dialogue was written. He started to look for roles on the screen after that. He was an actor with a wide range of talents and had a strong presence that allowed him to be found in numerous productions on television.
