Bindi Sue Irwin was the daughter Terri and Steve Irwin. They are natural conservationists and the stars of the Crocodile Hunter series. As a little girl, Bindi was raised on the grounds and assisted the staff of the Australia Zoo in their daily duties. Bindi was home-schooled, allowing her to remain close to family and the animals that she loved. Bindi was only two years old when she made her debut on television. She has featured in shows such as The Crocodile Hunter Diaries and The Wiggles: Wiggly Safari. Bindi was the center of a media frenzy when her father Steve was struck by a stingray shooting in 2006. Bindi aged eight years old, was a spokesperson for the family and also interviewed prominent TV personalities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Larry King and David Letterman. Bindi had several film projects in the pipeline prior to her father's passing. The tragedy that affected her was also her first foray into the world of film. Bindi Kidfitness, which was first released on DVD and CD in 2006, became a huge success. The film was named Australia's Ambassador of Tourism with a full schedule of touring and live performances in a variety of cities across the globe to promote Australian eco-tourism. Additionally to that, a Discovery Kids television network program called Bindi the Jungle Girl went into production shortly afterward. The 26-part series is expected to premiere in the fall of 2007
