Alycia Jasmin Debnam-Carey was born 20 July 1993. Her most famous roles include Lexa the dystopian science fictional character from The 100 (2014–2016; 2020) and Alicia Clark on Fear the Walking Dead (2015-2022). In 2003 she made her film debut in Rachel Ward's Australian drama Martha's New Coat. She also made her feature film debut in the American disaster film Into the Storm (2014). Her directorial debut came in 2022 with the episode "Ofelia" in the seventh season of Fear the Walking Dead. As children, Debnam-Carey and her brother would help their mother act out the program segments she wrote. Debnam-Carey began acting when she was eight. She also took classes in classical percussion for 10 years. She attended Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and was a drummer. In 2010, in partnership with the Berlin Philharmonic, Debnam-Carey and forty other musicians wrote the piece during a two-week program and performed it at the Sydney Opera House.
