Allyson Michelle Felix OLY was born on on November 18, 1985. She is an American retired track and field athlete. From 2003 until 2013, she was a 200-meter specialist, then moved to 400 meters later in her career. In the 400m, she is the 2015 world champion, the 2011 world silver medalist, 2016, Olympic silver medalist, world bronze medalist, and the 2020 Olympic bronze medalist. In the shorter distances, Felix is a ten-time U.S. national champion (2004, 2005, 2007-2012, 2015, and 2016).Felix was a major player in the United States women's relay teams which won six more Olympic gold medals, including four consecutive gold medals at 4 400 meters (2008 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2020) and two in the 4 x 100 meters (2012 and 2016). The women's 2012 and 2016 U.S. Olympic 4 x 100 meters teams set the current women's 4 x 100 meters world record of 40.82 seconds, and the second-fastest time in the race at 41.01 seconds as well. Felix was the first female track and fields athlete to earn seven Olympic gold medals. She took home six gold medals in relays for teams, and one from an individual race. She is also the most decorated female track and track athlete in Olympic track and track history. With 11 medals earned from five consecutive Olympic Games, she is the most decorated American track and field athlete. Felix is the World Athletics Championships' most decorated female and male athlete with 20 medals over her career. Seven of them were in individual events, and 13 from team relays.
