Kim Delaney

 Kim Delaney (born November 29, 1961 was an American actress known for her leading role as Detective Diane Russell on the ABC drama television show NYPD Blue, for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. She was the character Jenny Gardner, an ABC daytime television drama titled All My Children, early in her career. Later, she starred as a lead in the short-lived TV drama Philly that was part of the first season of CSI: Miami, and the initial six seasons of Army Wives. She also appeared on Tour of Duty, Season 2 and the initial two episodes of Season 3, playing a writer during the Vietnam War named Alex Devlin.Delaney, the Irish American, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Joan and Jack Delaney, the only daughter of five children. Delaney was the daughter of a homemaker mother and an Roman Catholic father. Delaney is the sibling of John, Keith, Patrick and Ed Delaney. While she was at J. W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School, she was models for the Elite agency.Upon graduation, she went to New York and found employment as model. While there she was studying acting in the company of William Esper.
