Jessica Michelle Chastain (born March 24, 1977) is an American actress and producer. She is known for her role in films that feature feminist themes, she has earned various accolades such as an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 influential people around the globe in 2012.Chastain began to develop an interest in acting from an early age and made her performance debut in 1998 in Shakespeare's Juliet. After attending the Juilliard School, she was signed to a talent holding contract with the TV producer John Wells. She was a recurring guest on several television series, and took on roles in several stage productions. Following her debut film at the age of 31 with the thriller Jolene (2008), Chastain made her mark in 2011 with six film releases that included the dramas Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2011). As a character in the films, she played an aspiring socialite as well as a CIA analyst, she was awarded Academy Award nominations in The Help (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012).
