Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian-German actor and film star, is best known for her roles in dramas on television, such as Downfall and 'Youth Without Youth Control', and Rush. Alexandra was born to Valentin Platareanu who is who is a Romanian actor. Her critically appreciated performance in the made-for-television film 'Der Tunnel' helped pave the way for other notable roles, including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war-drama film 'Downfall.' Other Oscar nominated movies featuring the diva include 'The Reader' as well as 'Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Through the years, Alexandra has worked in several noteworthy national and international projects. They include the British biographical film Control, The Dust of Time and the Greek drama film The Dust of Time. She was also on the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
