Alexa Chung (born 5 November 1983) is a British television host, model, internet personality as well as a writer and fashion designer. It was her first novel. She is the daughter of Phillip Chung and Gillian Chung. Her father is of mostly Chinese origin, while her mother is of English descent. Growing up she had a pony and took dancing classes. Chung went to secondary school in the nearby Perins School and spent sixth year in Peter Symonds College, Winchester. She was accepted at King's College London to study English and Chelsea College of Arts to study art, but at the age of 16 was sought out by a model agency at the Reading Festival prior to attending. She also worked for various businesses like Fanta, Sony Ericsson, Sunsilk, Urban Outfitters, and Tampax. Chung appeared in music videos featuring artists such as Westlife, Holly Valance, Holly Valance, Delta Goodrem and Reuben. Chung also appeared in Shoot Me, a scripted reality series which aired on Fashion TV. Chung made the decision to end her modeling career after four years of modeling. She was looking to begin an art foundation or a fashion journalism program, but she was disillusioned. She created an "distorted body image" as well as "low self-esteem" by modeling
