Alex Morgan, in full Alexandra Patricia Morgan, (born on July 2, 1989 in San Dimas, California, U.S.), American professional football (soccer) player who used her speed and strength to become one of the best scorers in the sport. The U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT), won two Women's World Cups in 2015 and 2019. In addition, she won an Olympic gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics and bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Games. Morgan was born in Diamond Bar, California. She was involved in a variety of sports in her youth, but did not concentrate on soccer until she was a teenager. She was awarded many awards and honors while attending University of California at Berkeley for her soccer skills. Morgan received an associate's degree from the University of California at Berkeley in the year 2010. She was also drafted by the Western New York Flash as the top overall selection during the 2011 Women's Professional Soccer draft. The WPS was disbanded following her first season. After her first season, she was a part of the Seattle Sounders Women (later known as the Sound FC [Football Club]), of the Women of the United Soccer Leagues (now the Women's Premier Soccer League).
