Alex Chappell (nee Corddry) was born on 10 October, 1988 in Bethesda. She is an American journalist who reports on the Washington Nationals for Mid-Atlantic Sports Network. Her father, Phillip Corddry, was a left-handed pitcher for the University of Maryland and spent the years 1969-72 in the Boston Red Sox organization.She graduated from Walt Whitman High School and the University of Alabama, and while in college she interned for WJLA in Washington, D.C.Chappell began to become an avid Washington Nationals fan in 2005 when the team moved to Washington, D.C., from Montreal which was where they played as the Montreal Expos from 1969 to 2004 - and she admired the former MASN field reporters Amber Theoharis and Kristina Akra (now Kristina Fitzpatrick) during Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals broadcasts, respectively.
