Alba Baptista

 Alba Baptista (born 10 July 1997) is a Portuguese actress. She started her career in her home country of Portugal through the television series Jardins Proibidos (2014-2015). She then starred in multiple Portuguese series and films, such as A Impostora, Filha da Lei, A Criacao, and Jogo Duplo.From 2020 to 2022, she has starred in the Netflix series Warrior Nun, which marked her first English-language debut.Baptista was born in Lisbon, Portugal. Her Portuguese mother met her Brazilian father, an engineer from Rio de Janeiro. She worked in Brazil as a translator. She was a student at a German school in Portugal. At age 15 she made the choice to become an actor. She has listed The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) as her favourite film when she was as she grew up.At 16 years old, Alba Baptista started her career as the main character of Simao Cayatte's short film Miami.For her performance, she won the Best Actress Award at the Festival Iberico de Cine. Her professional development continued with appearances in the Portuguese show A Criacao and the telenovelas A Impostora and Jogo Duplo. During the following years, Alba developed a strong cinema career in Portugal, as well as appearing in roles on three popular Portuguese series. Caminhos Magnetykos where Alba played "Catarina" and Equinocio (directed by Ivo Ferreira) are two instances of her film work. In 2019 she appeared in the film Patrick The Directorial Debut of Goncalo Waddington.
