Adrienne Ames was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1907. Her Hollywood debut in the late 1920s. Although her career lasted only ten years however, her life was full of prominent divorces and marriages. Her popularity as a glamorous queen and clothing horse far outweighed her fame for her work as an actress. She was married Bruce Cabot in 1933 after she separated from her first husband, a New York City stockbroker. Their relationship was only for four years. In court, she told her divorce that she abandoned Cabot due to an uncontrollable, violent drunk. In 1938, the couple was arraigned before a US Tax Appeals Board to discuss the reasons she deducted more than $9000 worth of wardrobe and jewelry on her 1934 tax form and claimed it was to satisfy "professional motives" (as was the case with her maid). She claimed that her "daily expenses" included flowers, massages taxis, and beauty work.Her career was in the period from 1929 until and she starred in around 30 films which were mostly "B" pictures. You're Telling Me is probably the most famous film of her career. (1934) With W.C. Fields. She worked as a radio commentator after her film career.
