Adele

Adele was the name of Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, (born May 5 1988, Tottenham, London, England), English pop artist and songwriter with a soulful expressive voice and classic songs helped her become one of the most broadly popular performers of her generation.Adkins was raised by a single mother in various working-class neighborhoods of London. When she was a young girl she loved singing contemporary pop music and learned to play guitar and the clarinet. However, it wasn't until her teens, when she began to discover the rhythm and blues singer Etta James and other mid-20th-century performers that she started to consider a musical career. As she worked on her skills at a school funded by the government for the performing arts, one of her friends began posting songs Adkins composed and recorded on the social networking Web site Myspace. After gaining interest from record companies, her music was soon discovered by XL Recordings. In 2006 the friend uploaded songs written by Adkins and recorded on Myspace. The title is a reference to her age, at which she wrote most of the songs. The recording debuted at the top of the British chart and reviewers praised Adele's smooth vocals, her edgy arrangements, and her capacity to translate her personal emotional experiences (especially when it comes to heartbreak) into songs with large resonance. Her comparisons to Amy Winehouse (a young British singer heavily influenced by soul music) are not surprising. (For many of her fans but, her zaftig figure and down-to-earth persona made her the more-relatable star.
