Abbey Hoes

 Emily Abigail Ashley Hoes was born on May 20th, 1994 in the city of Rotterdam. At the age of 10, she began learning to dance, sing and acting classes at the Hofplein Children's theatre. Following auditions for musical theatre, she realized that acting was her real passion and was offered a spot in a TV commercial for Roosvicee soft drinks. In 2009, she made her screen debut as Maite in "Maite was Here" the critically-acclaimed series. She later appeared in film "Furious", "To Be King" and "Nina Satana" and had supporting roles in "Lover or Loser", "Tirza" and the award-winning "Finnemans". She was among the 2012 Dutch Film Festival's "Most promising young talent". She was awarded the Dutch Film Award for Best Actress in a Feature Film in 2014 and was also one of the Shooting Stars in 2015 at the Berlinale. This was due to her starring part in "Nena". In television, Abbey was featured in the popular youth series "Vrijland", "Spangas", "2012, The year zero" and played a recurring role in the series "Feuten", "The Black Tulip" and "Dr. Deen". She was the voice of "Violetta" in the Dutch version of the famous Disney series. In 2017, she was awarded the Dutch Film Award (Gouden Kalf) for the best actress in a television series "Petticoat" eight-episode TV series in which she showcases her talent in dancing and singing.
