Netflix YA drama The Society left fans crying for more after that compelling season finale which was the final confirmation of what had occurred to the teens from West Ham. Netflix has revealed that season 2 of The Society will be cancelled. The Netflix statement said: "We have made the difficult decision not to proceed with The Society and I Am Not Happy With This. We're sad to be forced to take these decisions due to circumstances created by COVID. "A source informed The Hollywood Reporter that despite being satisfied with the way both shows did however, the "uncertainty" of the air dates, "unexpected budget increases" due to the pandemic, and the difficulties of managing a big crew were hurdles that were too much to overcome. Chris Keyser, showrunner at Variety said that the show had spent the past few months getting ready to return and coping with all COVID protocols. "And then I received a call from Netflix declaring that they had made this decision.' This was extremely shocking and unexpected. ""We were dealing with Netflix and the rise in budgets and all of that kind of stuff," Keyser said. "We knew there were issues and we had ongoing discussions."
